Bersatu State Assemblyman Proposes Seat Change; Perak Speaker: Will Try to Accommodate Request

On Monday, Perak Speaker Datuk Mohamad Zahir did not provide a clear answer regarding the matter of 'Bersatu state assemblyman seat change' during the state assembly session.

He stated in the assembly that Perikatan Nasional has requested a rearrangement of state assembly seats, and that he and the assembly would try their best to accommodate the request to allow state assemblymen to better perform their duties.

According to Mohamad Zahir's response, the letter was signed by Perikatan Nasional Perak Chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal, requesting a change of seat for Sungai Manik State Assemblyman Datuk Zainol, and was submitted to his office during the state assembly session on April 16.

Then, on Saturday night (19th), Ahmad Faizal, when asked by the media after a large-scale Perikatan Nasional lecture in Ayer Kuning by-election, confirmed that he had indeed received a reply from the Speaker, stating that the application was rejected.

Regarding this matter, Speaker Mohamad Zahir, during Monday's state assembly, although he expressed a willingness to try and accommodate, did not provide a definite response. Currently, the 'person involved' Zainol still sits in his original seat.
