(Thailand, 28th) A tragic family incident recently occurred in Chaiyaphum Province, Thailand. A teenager, allegedly under the influence of alcohol and methamphetamine, lost control while in a delirious state and assaulted his defenseless biological mother. He has now been arrested by local police.

According to Thai media outlet The Thaiger, police investigations revealed that the incident took place on the 25th of this month, in Kaset Sombun. The victimized mother filed a police report the next morning, stating that her son forced his way into her bedroom on the night of the incident, violently beat her before committing sexual assault.

The victim’s mother accused: “I was terrified at the time, afraid he would kill me, so I didn’t dare resist much.”

Even more chilling, after the assault, the suspect left calmly to pick up his older brother and returned home, even sleeping in the same room as his brother that night. Out of extreme fear, the mother dared not breathe a word to her elder son that night. Not until the following morning, after she wept and sought advice from neighbors, did she muster the courage to go to the police.

During a subsequent crime reenactment, the suspect confessed to the sexual assault without reservation. He argued that he became delirious due to drinking and drug use, which led to his loss of control. However, he also admitted to intimidating his mother during the assault, threatening her with even greater violence if she did not comply.

Additionally, police received reports from villagers alleging that the suspect often acted as a drug dealer within the village, distributing methamphetamine to other young people.

Police and community records show that the family had long been plagued by misfortune. The victim's husband had died of illness two years ago, leaving her reliant solely on her two sons. The younger son involved in the case had long displayed serious violent tendencies and antisocial behavior, including incidents of violence against elderly neighbors.

The local village chief, health officials, and police had previously sent the suspect to a juvenile detention center in Nakhon Ratchasima for 8 months of correctional supervision. However, the suspect was just released and returned to the village on February 27 this year, and villagers reported his conduct showed no improvement, ultimately culminating in the tragedy of sexually assaulting his own mother.

At present, the police have transferred the suspect to the Chaiyaphum Juvenile and Family Court, where he faces severe legal punishment.
