Israel's security cabinet is currently considering a "full military occupation" of Gaza, as well as "laying siege" to certain city centers where Hamas activities are more active.

According to a report by Israel's Channel 12 Television on the 28th, topics discussed by the security cabinet that day included the possibility of "conquering Gaza" or "besieging cities with active Hamas activity."

The report stated that if the above plan is implemented, the Israel Defense Forces will conduct operations in areas believed to be where Israeli hostages are being held. Up to now, the IDF has basically avoided taking action in those areas.

Separately, according to Israel's Haaretz newspaper on the 28th, in order to keep some far-right parties in the ruling coalition, Prime Minister Netanyahu intends to submit to the security cabinet a plan to annex parts of Gaza.

According to this plan, Hamas will be given several days to reach a cease-fire agreement; otherwise, Israel will begin annexing parts of Gaza.

The report said that Israel would first annex certain sites located in the military buffer zone, and then annex northern parts of Gaza adjacent to southern Israel. This process would progress step by step, "until the whole of Gaza is annexed."

The report also stated that the plan had "received approval from the Trump administration in the United States."
