An abandoned body case was reported in Changhua County, Taiwan. On the morning of the 26th, a member of the public discovered a human-shaped package wrapped in cling film in the grass near a lychee orchard in Fenyuan Township. Emergency personnel arrived at the scene, opened the package, and confirmed it was the waxy-yellowed corpse of a long-haired woman. A male suspect surnamed Lin has been taken into custody in connection with the case.
According to Taiwanese media reports, Lin claimed that the deceased died from feeling unwell and that he wrapped and abandoned the body in the lychee orchard. The police are still investigating the case.
It is understood that the package was wrapped with a quilt and cling film, and it appeared to be in human form. The citizen who found it immediately suspected something was wrong and called the police. Firefighters used a basket stretcher to move the package and handed it over to forensic investigators at 11:45 am to open it for inspection. It was confirmed to be the body of a long-haired woman, already waxy-yellowed on the surface, but her age and identity have yet to be determined.
Police continued their investigation and, based on items left at the scene, identified a male suspect surnamed Lin, around 40 years old, as a person of interest. He was urgently taken into custody in the afternoon.
It is understood that Lin is known to be involved with drugs. He initially claimed that the deceased died due to feeling unwell and that, not knowing how to handle the situation, he wrapped the body in a quilt, covered it with cling film, and abandoned it at the site. The police are skeptical of his statement and suspect there may be additional accomplices involved. The case is under full investigation.
