(Kuching, 17th) Batu Lintang constituency state assemblyman See Chee How stated that as the Sarawak government has already introduced the "Elderly Health Welfare Program" and the "Sarawak Basic Needs Assistance Fund" for some time now, more and more people are beginning to understand and actively apply for these beneficial projects. This shows that the initiatives by the Sarawak government effectively meet the needs of the Sarawak people.
According to feedback from successful applicants, the process for receiving these benefits is simple and convenient, saving both time and money.
See Chee How said that beneficiaries of the Elderly Health Welfare Program only need to bring their identity card to designated private clinics or dental clinics, and the costs will be directly deducted from their online account's annual RM500 subsidy. Beneficiaries of the Sarawak Basic Needs Assistance Fund can use the S Pay Global e-wallet via their smartphones to purchase daily essentials at designated supermarkets.
Therefore, he encourages the people of Sarawak to inform each other about these specially designed benefit programs. Those who have yet to enjoy these benefits should quickly submit their registration applications.
His Batu Lintang constituency service center team will also set up a mobile service counter this Saturday (19th) from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at Damai Jaya Xiang Xiang Cafe to assist Sarawak elderly residents aged 60 and above to apply for these two benefits provided by the Sarawak government.
Interested applicants should bring their identity card to the mobile service counter; if they cannot attend in person, relatives can apply on their behalf, and they must provide the applicant's identity card and contact number. A designated person will be present to assist in filling the forms.
The Sarawak Basic Needs Assistance Fund is executed as a one-time distribution, providing RM800 per family, RM250 for singles, and RM400 for elderly individuals without spouses, distributed through the S Pay Global e-wallet for purchasing basic food, aiming to alleviate the impact of rising living costs on low-income groups.
Applicants must be beneficiaries of the Malaysian Federal Government's Fourth Phase Loving Assistance Fund 2024 (STR, previously known as BR1M).
Interested applicants for the Sarawak Basic Needs Assistance Fund (SKAS) must bring their identity card and a functioning smartphone.
The appeal application for the Sarawak Basic Needs Assistance Fund ended on March 31 this year. However, eligible individuals may still submit their registration applications.
