South Korean comedian Park Na-rae was recently accused of workplace bullying by several former agents, who claimed that she treated them like servants, required them to be on call 24 hours a day, and made them pay various expenses out of pocket without reimbursement. One agent even alleged being injured by Park after refusing to drink alcohol when she threw a cup at them.
On the 8th, Park Na-rae posted on social media, revealing that at the beginning of November, two agents she worked with as closely as family suddenly resigned. Until recently, she hadn’t had a chance to communicate with those involved, and numerous misunderstandings had built up between them. She finally met with the former agents on the 7th, and although the misunderstandings and distrust between them have now been resolved, she believes all this was due to her own immaturity and is deeply reflecting on it.
Park continued, saying, “As a comedian whose job is to bring laughter and joy to everyone, I don’t want to cause any more trouble for programs or my colleagues. Therefore, I have decided to pause all performances until everything is thoroughly resolved.” She ended the statement with an apology: “To everyone who has believed in and supported me all this time, I sincerely apologize once again.”
