(Bandar Seri Begawan, 14th) With the gracious consent of His Majesty the Sultan of Brunei, the 2025 Royal Brunei Armed Forces Highest Government Scholarship (PT ABDB) was awarded to an outstanding student, Aaron Ang Wen Zi.
The scholarship agreement signing and award presentation ceremony was held earlier today at the Officers’ Mess, Bolkiah Camp. Present to award the scholarship certificate and memento to the recipient was the Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Defence, Dato Seri Haji Awang Halbi.
Other attendees included members of the Defence and Royal Brunei Armed Forces Executive Committee, various heads, senior officials of the Ministry of Defence, members of the 2025 PT ABDB Scholarship Selection Panel, as well as the recipient's parents and guarantor.
The signatory on behalf of the Ministry of Defence was Permanent Secretary Brigadier General (Retired) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Aliru Pending.
After completing his studies, the scholarship recipient will serve in public service at the Ministry of Defence.
Aaron Ang Wen Zi, a graduate of Sengkurong Sixth Form Centre, has completed his A Level studies. He will proceed to Australia’s University of Melbourne to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Data Science.
The PT ABDB Scholarship is one of Brunei’s most prestigious scholarship programmes, with its main aim to nurture outstanding young leaders to contribute to national development, especially in the fields of defence and security.
