(Hanoi, 6th – Comprehensive Report) Former Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Khánh passed away at 8:57 PM on July 19, 2023, at 108 Central Military Hospital due to illness, at the age of 95. During his critical illness, Comrade Nguyen Khánh received care and attention from the Party and the State, as well as the devoted care of his family, and underwent meticulous treatment from specialists, professors, and doctors.
Comrade Nguyen Khánh, whose original name was Nguyen Ngoc Khánh, was born on March 31, 1928, in Xa Hoi village, Thuong Tin District, Hanoi City, and joined the Communist Party of Vietnam on February 20, 1947.
Comrade Nguyen Khánh held several key positions, including Secretary of the Secretariat of the 6th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Alternate Member of the 5th Central Committee, Member of the Central Committee for the 6th and 7th sessions; from 1987 to 1992 he served as Vice Chairman and Secretary General of the Council of Ministers; from 1992 to 1997 he was Deputy Prime Minister, and was also a representative to the 8th, 9th, and 10th National Assembly.
Comrade Nguyen Khánh was elected a member of the Central Committee and the Secretariat at the 5th to 7th National Congresses of the Communist Party, and also served as Secretary and Director of the Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party, making important contributions to the construction of the Party and the State.
