RIA Novosti reported that the new round of Russia-Ukraine talks will be held from the 24th to the 25th.
On Monday night, Ukrainian President Zelensky delivered a video speech on social media, saying that he and the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, Umerov, discussed matters related to holding talks with Russia again. Umerov said Russia and Ukraine plan to hold talks in Turkey on the 23rd, and “further details will be announced on the 22nd.”
Kremlin spokesperson Peskov said earlier the same day that Russia supports holding the third round of talks, and the date will be announced once determined.
According to Russian media, President Putin said on June 27 that after the implementation of the agreements previously reached with Ukraine in Istanbul, the two sides will hold a third round of talks, and Russia is ready for this. The theme of the third round will be to discuss a draft memorandum on solutions to the conflict between the two countries.
On June 2, Russian and Ukrainian delegations held the second round of direct talks in Istanbul, where both sides agreed in principle to exchange all seriously wounded and critically ill prisoners of war, as well as conduct large-scale exchanges of prisoners of war under 25 and the remains of fallen soldiers.
