Trump Administration Releases Files on Martin Luther King Assassination Case

(US, 22nd) The Trump administration in the United States has released more than 230,000 pages of files related to the civil rights leader Martin Luther King’s assassination case.
Xinhua News Agency reported that U.S. Director of National Intelligence, Avril Haines, posted on social media on Monday (July 21), saying: “For nearly 60 years, many questions surrounding the Martin Luther King assassination case have remained unresolved. Today, we are finally making public 230,000 pages of related files.” She stated that the documents can be accessed on the website of the U.S. National Archives.
According to the official statement, these files contain details of the FBI’s investigation into the case, such as discussions about potential leads and FBI internal memos recording the progress of the case.
On January 23, U.S. President Trump signed an executive order directing the declassification of all remaining files concerning the assassinations of former President Kennedy, his brother Robert Kennedy, and black civil rights leader Martin Luther King.
Martin Luther King was assassinated on April 4, 1968, in Memphis, USA, at the age of 39. He dedicated his life to fighting for racial equality and justice, and delivered the famous "I Have a Dream" speech.
