(UK, 22nd) — Foreign ministers from more than 20 countries, including the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Japan, and France, jointly issued a statement on the 21st demanding an immediate end to the war in Gaza. They urged Israel to comply with its obligations under international humanitarian law and to immediately lift restrictions on humanitarian aid supplies.
The relevant statement published on the UK government's website said that the suffering of Gaza's civilians has deepened further, and that the Israeli government's humanitarian aid model is dangerous, exacerbates the instability of the situation, and deprives the people of Gaza of basic dignity.
The statement denounced Israel for killing Gaza civilians who were seeking the most basic necessities of drinking water and food.
The statement said that more than 800 Palestinians have been killed in the process of seeking aid, and that the Israeli government's refusal to provide basic humanitarian relief to civilians is unacceptable.
The statement declared that proposals to relocate Palestinians to so-called "humanitarian cities" are completely unacceptable, and that "permanent forced displacement" violates international humanitarian law.
The statement firmly opposes any move to alter the territorial or demographic structure in the occupied Palestinian territories.
The European Commissioner for Crisis Management, Emergency Preparedness, and Equality also signed the statement.
