(Miri, 12th) The Miri Riam Junior Chamber International (JCI Riam) performed excellently at the 2026 JCI Sarawak Area Conference in Malaysia, achieving impressive results in multiple competitions, notably claiming their third consecutive championship in the Mandarin Origan Debate.
This year’s conference, hosted by JCI Jalan Tanjung Kidurong, took place from May 8th to 10th at the Imperial Palace Hotel, bringing together members of JCI from across Sarawak for leadership development, networking, competitions, and relationship building.
The JCI Riam delegation participated with confidence and strong team spirit, performing outstandingly in several contest categories.
Among them, the team formed by president Lin Xiao Jian, Lin Yong Hua, and Xu Pei Ying took the championship in the Mandarin Origan Debate, securing the organization’s dominance in the event for a third consecutive year.
In addition, president Lin Xiao Jian won third place at the Best President Summit, while Cai Wan Ying was the runner-up in the pickleball competition.
On another note, Xu Xun Yao won the runner-up place in the JCI Project Presentation Contest, and also received the “Best Sarawak Outstanding Area Officer Award” and the “Best Sarawak Area Officer Report”.
Lin Xiao Jian expressed his gratitude to all members who represented the chapter in the competitions and those who supported during the conference, stating that these results reflected members’ hard work, preparation, and teamwork, as well as the spirit of continuous learning and proactive participation embodied by JCI members.
He said the chapter will continue to devote itself to providing diverse development platforms for youths, helping them to develop leadership, confidence, social responsibility, and personal growth.
He pointed out that, through personal development, community development, business development, and international opportunities, JCI upholds the philosophy of "learning by doing," creating opportunities for members to discover their full potential.
Meanwhile, the chapter also calls for more youths aged 18 to 40 to join JCI, viewing it as a platform for self-improvement, building friendships, and giving back to the community.
