(Kuching, 7th) In order to reach out to the grassroots and facilitate community residents and local university students, the Sarawak United People's Party (SUPP) Kuching branch will set up a "Night Service Counter" tomorrow evening (8th) from 6 PM to 9 PM at the Foo Lin Kan Tea House.
This event particularly focuses on assisting Sarawak university students to apply for the government-issued RM1,200 Special Living Assistance. A variety of other community service and legal consultations will also be available on-site, providing convenience for people to handle various matters after work.
Kuching branch youth leader Huang Durong pointed out that the RM1,200 Special Living Assistance application is now open, with the application period from May 1st to June 1st, for only one month.
Kuching branch youth leader Huang Durong pointed out that the RM1,200 Special Living Assistance application is now open, with the application period from May 1st to June 1st, for only one month.
Reportedly, the first round will distribute RM600, and the second round will open for application in September. To facilitate students in completing the application procedure smoothly, the branch has set up a special counter at the night service desk, with personnel to assist in answering questions and guiding the application process.
Students applying for this assistance only need to prepare their personal identification card, both parents' identification cards, university admission offer letter, and Sarawak ID account. If the parents are government officials or salaried workers, a payslip can be provided as income proof. For self-employed, business, or family with irregular income, applicants can directly obtain an income certificate issued by the Kapitan on-site, saving the trouble of running around for stamps.
Huang Durong stated that the night service counter will also provide residents with Kunyalan Gold Card applications, document verification and certification, social welfare subsidy applications, registration and welfare consultation services for persons with disabilities (OKU). Additionally, as a practicing local lawyer, he will set up a legal consultation area on-site to provide residents with preliminary legal advice and assist in resolving legal inquiries.
He emphasized that the SUPP Kuching branch is committed to bringing various government assistance programs and community services "to your doorstep," making services more close to people's livelihood.

“Many people are unable to complete application procedures during office hours due to work and study commitments. We hope to solve this pain point through the establishment of the night service counter, enabling people, especially students, to handle necessary matters without worry.”
Huang Durong urged eligible university students and residents to take advantage of this opportunity and eagerly visit the night counter to handle matters.
