Curtin University Wins 'Employers' Choice Award' for the Third Time, Reinforcing Graduate Employment Reputation

(Miri, 7th) Curtin University Malaysia Sarawak Campus has once again won the national 'Employers' Choice Award 2025', marking the third consecutive year since 2023 that the university has received this honor, reflecting the industry's high trust in the quality of its graduates.

This award is evaluated based on the Graduate Employability Index (GE Index) survey results published by Talentbank, recognizing higher education institutions most favored by employers.

The award ceremony was held on April 23 at the EQ Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, officiated by Ahmad Munir Akram Ahmad Faiz, General Manager of the Human Capital Investment, Group Human Resources Management at PETRONAS. Professor Vincent Lee, Interim Pro Vice-Chancellor, President, and Chief Executive of Curtin Malaysia, accepted the award on behalf of the university.

The event coincided with the Talentbank Raya Open House, inaugurated by Datuk Ts. Mustapha Sakmud, Deputy Minister of Higher Education. The event attracted several business leaders and representatives from higher education institutions, creating a lively atmosphere.

Professor Lee emphasized that winning the award for three consecutive years demonstrates Curtin University's precise response to industry demands and proves that its graduates are not only academically excellent but also immediately employable. The award is a testament to the practical nature of our courses, their close association with the industry, and our global teaching approach. 

The GE Index is a national evaluation tool established by Talentbank in collaboration with several major companies, including PETRONAS, Maybank, and Nestle. Since the establishment of the index, Curtin Malaysia has consistently excelled, continuing to lead in the field of Chemical Engineering in 2025 and, for the first time, topping the charts in Occupational Safety and Health, showcasing its cross-disciplinary teaching advantages. 

This award further opens up a wider employment network for Curtin Malaysia, including priority access to the vast employer resources connected by Talentbank, further enhancing the employment opportunities and starting pay levels for its graduates. 

Professor Lee emphasized that for students and parents, this award represents that a degree from Curtin is not merely an academic credential but a ticket to the professional world.
