(Bandar Seri Begawan, 25th) Baiduri Bank held the Open Day event for the sixth cohort of its Graduate Apprenticeship Programme (GAP) at its headquarters, aiming to interact with recent graduates and introduce the career development paths within the Baiduri Bank Group.
This event brought together representatives from the Group's Human Resources Department and bank branches, who engaged directly with the guests, sharing practical information about the bank's working environment, expectations for apprentices, and the contributions of various roles to the organization.
The Open Day featured a series of interactive sessions, covering an overview of the GAP programme, its structure, learning pathways, and the various opportunities available to participants. Guests also listened to firsthand experiences from past GAP trainees, learning how the programme helped them transition from academic research to the workplace and provided actionable advice for developing a career in banking.
GAP is a six-month programme designed to provide recent graduates with opportunities to gain hands-on work experience and skills, supporting them in making a smooth entry into the workforce. Participants will have the chance to get exposure to various departments of the bank, including a rotation at branches during the early phase of the programme, allowing them to gain practical experience in customer service and bank operations. Additionally, they will be exposed to other functional areas to gain a broader understanding of the bank and to enhance their communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
Veronica Chong, Group Head of Human Resources and Administration, reflecting on the event, said: "This is a great opportunity for graduates to get a clearer understanding of what the programme really entails. More importantly, we are able to engage with them in depth, address their concerns, and help them learn how to integrate and develop here."
This programme demonstrates Baiduri Bank’s continued commitment to supporting local talent, by creating opportunities that combine academic learning with real-world experience, helping young graduates to upskill and grow within Brunei's labour market.
Applications for the sixth cohort of the GAP programme will be open via the Baiduri Bank recruitment portal from 23 May to 1 June 2026. Interested applicants are requested to prepare a cover letter, curriculum vitae, identification documents, and the highest academic certificate as part of their application materials.
