Sad news has come from the Hong Kong entertainment industry: veteran supporting actor Yau Biu was reported to have passed away on the evening of the 24th at the age of 57. Actor friend Wong Man Biu confirmed the news to the media. During his lifetime, Yau Biu appeared in classic Hong Kong dramas such as The Greed of Man, The Return of the Condor Heroes, and Gods of Honour. He often played small-time thugs, earning him the nickname 'Designated Bad Guy.'
According to "Hong Kong 01," his friend Wong Man Biu revealed that on the 12th, while Yau was meeting a client in his office, he suddenly felt seriously unwell and immediately asked Wong Man Biu to call an ambulance for him. Before he could be taken to the hospital, he had already fallen into a semi-comatose state. Doctors diagnosed him with a cerebral hemorrhage, and after remaining in a coma for several days, he ultimately lost his battle with death, passing away before 10 PM on the 24th.

Yau Biu was married and had a daughter, "Yau Choi" (Yau Hoi Yuet). Before leaving the entertainment industry, he had already founded an environmental engineering company in 2004, reinventing himself as a "formaldehyde removal expert." In the early days of his business, clients made cynical remarks and questioned, "You’re an actor; do you really know your stuff?" and treated him with indifference. Yet, relying on his professionalism and hard work, he built a thriving business. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the antibacterial products he sold once cost over 700 HKD (about 348 MYR) per 100ml, and demand far exceeded supply, causing several sell-outs. After achieving business success, he did not forget to help his old showbiz friends, inviting his friend Wong Man Biu to take up a position in sales. His sudden passing has left many loved ones and fans filled with sorrow and regret.
When interviewed, Wong Man Biu was deeply saddened, saying that Yau Biu was not only a close friend of many years but also his boss. He specifically mentioned how much Yau loved his young daughter "Yau Choi," and said that worries about her future living and educational expenses now weigh heavily on his heart.
