According to a report by Bloomberg, Anthropic is about to launch a new voice assistant product for its Claude chatbot. This new feature, called “voice mode,” may be released as early as this month but will initially be launched in a limited way. Currently, there are plans to introduce three voices, namely Airy, Mellow, and Buttery, which has a British accent. However, the release plan may still change.
Voice assistants have become a crucial feature for AI developers like OpenAI and Google, promising to change how people interact with chatbots and enhance user productivity. However, the rise of AI voice products has also raised concerns about mimicking others' speech patterns. OpenAI reportedly delayed the release of its voice assistant by several months last year to address potential risks related to this issue.
New AI Functionality “Research” Launched This Week
Anthropic, founded in 2021 by former OpenAI employees, has released a series of new features in recent months to keep up with OpenAI and other competitors, including web search tools and coding assistants. The company also announced on the 15th the launch of a new AI feature called “Research,” which can search the web and corporate clients' data, providing comprehensive answers with full citation support, similar to OpenAI's Deep Research announced in February.
Anthropic also stated that it will add the ability for Claude users to search Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Docs to streamline work processes.
