In the Japanese TBS TV variety show “All-Star After Party 2025 Autumn” broadcast on the 4th, a quiz question asked “Who hasn't reached 165 km/h?” The choices included baseball players Shohei Ohtani, Roki Sasaki, Hideki Irabu, and actress Ryoko Hirosue. Hirosue’s agency believed this was making a joke about her recent traffic accident and lodged a protest; the program’s officials then formally apologized to Hirosue on the 9th.
According to Japanese Oricon News, Hirosue’s management company indicated on the 6th that “All-Star After Party 2025 Autumn,” aired on October 4, included inappropriate content involving their artist Ryoko Hirosue. The management company stated that as this incident is still under police investigation and relevant information has not yet been made public, using it as variety show material at this time is extremely inappropriate for a TV station and media professionals, and also potentially defamatory toward Hirosue and those involved. As a result, on the 6th, the company officially lodged a protest with TBS and requested action to restore Hirosue’s reputation.
The program issued an official apology on its website, stating, “In the ‘All-Star After Party 2025 Autumn’ broadcast on the 4th of this month, we inappropriately used the traffic accident currently under police investigation involving actress Ryoko Hirosue as a quiz topic. We sincerely apologize to Ms. Hirosue and those concerned for the trouble caused by this program content.”
