Michigan state police said on the 19th that due to a blizzard, the state experienced a pileup involving over a hundred vehicles on the same day, resulting in multiple injuries.
According to police reports, the accident occurred at around 10:19 a.m. local time. At the time of the incident, strong winds and snowfall caused severe blowing snow on the road, reducing visibility.
Police noted that several vehicles veered off the roadway, with "multiple incidents of sliding off the road," but there were no fatalities.
Police stated that among the vehicles involved were thirty to forty semi-trailer trucks.
After the incident, authorities closed both directions of the affected road section, prohibiting vehicle passage.
