(Bandar Seri Begawan, 29th) Cheng Yong Ming, Acting Chairman of Vun Teng Yun Temple, Brunei, led a delegation to participate in the “15th World Tua Pek Kong Festival Celebration 2026” organized by the Johor Bahru Tua Pek Kong Cultural Association, Malaysia.
This event will be grandly held on the 30th of this month in Johor, attracting Tua Pek Kong temples and Chinese community organizations from various countries and regions to participate in the grand occasion.
The Vun Teng Yun Temple delegation participating in the celebration includes delegation leader and Vice Chairman Cheng Yong Nian, Vice Chairman Lim Ten Chye, Vice Chairman Lim Ten Yuan, Vice Chairman Chen Li Rong, Affairs Advisor Lim Chang Hing, Board Members Lim Fong Bin, Lim Fook Ting, Khiew Xi De, Khoo Chiew Ping, Pang You Wen, and See Wei Zheng.
The delegation of 12 Vun Teng Yun Temple board members arrived in Johor yesterday from Miri to attend the grand celebration held this weekend and carry out religious and cultural exchanges.
This year’s celebration will feature a grand ritual worship and homage ceremony, deity sedan chair procession, god-worshipping parade, and Tua Pek Kong parade activities.
Participating countries and regions include Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Brunei, China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Vietnam, Myanmar, and Thailand.
The Brunei Vun Teng Yun Temple delegation’s attendance, in addition to strengthening ties with overseas temples, also further promotes Chinese traditional customs and Tua Pek Kong culture.
