(Bandar Seri Begawan, 22nd) Brunei Darussalam Central Bank (BDCB) will collaborate with Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD), Baiduri Bank (BBB), Standard Chartered Bank (SCB), and the Brunei Islamic Trust Fund (TAIB) to conduct a survey as part of the preparations for the development of the “Digital Payment Roadmap (2026-2030)”. The survey period will be from July 21 to September 10, 2025.
This survey will assess the public's usage, preferences, challenges, and awareness regarding digital payments. The results of the survey will assist in formulating the forthcoming roadmap strategy to ensure that digital payments in Brunei are convenient, secure, and meet consumer needs.
The survey questionnaire will be distributed online via the official BDCB website, as well as in-person. Participating banks will distribute the survey questionnaires to walk-in customers or selected customers. To support this initiative and achieve useful survey results, banks encourage customers to provide genuine feedback when completing the survey.
The Brunei Central Bank guarantees all responses will be kept confidential. Other than the following demographic information — age group, place of residence (Kampong only), gender, employment status, and monthly income — no other personal information will be collected.
Therefore, the public is advised to be wary of any surveys that may impersonate BDCB and attempt to collect personal or financial information beyond those mentioned above, such as bank account information, credit card/debit card details, etc.
