(Bandar Seri Begawan, 29th) The Women’s Group of the Brunei Fuzhou Ten Counties Association is scheduled to hold the “Zongqing Dragon Boat Festival, Filial Piety to Parents, Brunei Fuzhou Hearts Joined Together” Dragon Boat Festival and Parents’ Day Fellowship Gathering on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at 7:30 PM, in the Tan Kah Hing Couple Hall on the second floor of Fuzhou Building. Currently, over a hundred advisors, committee members, women’s group, youth group members, and association members have enthusiastically registered to participate.
The organizing committee, led by Women’s Group Leader Fang Xiufei, is actively carrying out various preparatory work, striving to present a warm and meaningful festive celebration for fellow villagers. The evening program is rich and diverse, including live zongzi-making demonstrations, parent-child zongzi relay races, zongzi wrapping contests for the open elite group, a Parents’ Day cake-cutting ceremony, line dance performance, as well as the emcee narrating the story of Qu Yuan, customs of the Dragon Boat Festival, and the culture of filial piety.
On the evening, Association President Dr. Liu Shiquan will deliver a speech, and the Women’s Group Leader will also take the stage to share. The event has specially invited village elders and elder sisters aged 70 and above to jointly participate in the Parents’ Day cake-cutting ceremony, reflecting the Fuzhou spirit of respecting elders and valuing virtue.
The organizing committee urges members and fellow villagers who have not yet registered to seize the opportunity. The registration deadline is June 5. All sectors of society are welcome to attend with their families, to spend an evening filled with the fragrance of zongzi and warmth.
