His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim accompanied Chinese President Xi Jinping at a welcoming ceremony at the National Palace, grandly receiving Xi Jinping's state visit to Malaysia. Accompanying him was Prime Minister Dato' Seri Anwar.

At the ceremony, Xi Jinping appreciated the welcoming dance performance presented by the National Department for Culture and Arts, symbolizing respect and welcome for the visit of the Chinese President to the National Palace.
