(Seria, 30th) - The selection event for the village head of Rumuk Zone 3 was officially held today at the Rumuk Public Hall. Voting was conducted using paper ballots, while online voting via the "e-Undi PMKK" mobile application had officially started at 8 a.m. on Friday, November 28, 2025.
Distinguished guests attending today's event included: Acting District Chief of Belait, Amirul; Member of Parliament and Bukit Sawat village head, the Honourable Awang Mohammad; Senior Special Officer of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ms. Sharina, along with several village head representatives.
The ceremony commenced with the recitation of the 'Opening Chapter' and a prayer session, led by the Honourable Fidaus, Religious Affairs Officer of the Rumuk Saina Mosque.
The only eligible candidate in this election was 36-year-old Honourable Syakri bin Jamil, who holds a GCE 'O' Level qualification and currently works as a firefighter with the Fire and Rescue Department.
A total of 141 registered and eligible villagers participated in the voting, of whom 46 people (48%) cast their votes via the e-Undi PMKK application, while 95 people (52%) used paper ballots. In the end, 140 people agreed to support the candidate to serve as the village head of Rumuk III.
The results of this selection will serve as supporting materials to be submitted to the “Village Chiefs Selection, Discipline, and Integrity Committee” under the Ministry of Home Affairs for further approval procedures.
