Self-proclaimed as the “Mother of Sex IQ Education in China,” internet celebrity Zhou Yuan has recently become a sensation online, with catchphrases like “I only give out my gaze,” “my body forms an X shape,” and “am I moving spiritually?” sparking a wave of imitation. However, on the 22nd, it was reported that her main account “Heibaidian Zhou Yuan” was permanently banned by the platform after being reported for vulgarity and objectifying women.

According to comprehensive Chinese media reports on the 22nd, Zhou Yuan, who is nearly 50 years old, founded the “Heibaidian Sexual Intelligence Academy” in 2018, branding it as China’s first female “sex IQ education platform.” The platform, which became popular for teaching women how to enhance their charm and intimacy skills, has a business empire spanning knowledge paywalls, adult products, and aesthetic medical services. She has nearly 200,000 followers on platforms such as Douyin and Xiaohongshu.

Based on incomplete media statistics, paid course revenues from her official store have exceeded 24 million RMB (about 13.89 million ringgit), with tens of thousands of cumulative students. Staff revealed that since its founding, the academy has served “hundreds of thousands of students.”

The academy’s courses are divided into online and offline categories. Online courses are priced from 9.9 yuan, 99 yuan, 999 yuan RMB up to several thousand yuan. According to the page for the 999 yuan RMB (about 579 ringgit) “Full Dimensional Enhancement Camp,” 5,690 people have participated; customer service stated the course includes live and recorded sessions with lifetime access, covering a variety of emotional issues and intimacy techniques.

In addition to basic courses, the academy offers high-level “mentor customized courses” and “progressive study programs,” with its “Full Growth Study Program” priced at as much as 88,000 yuan RMB (about 50,000 ringgit). Offline, its main products are a two-day, two-night bootcamp for 2,999 yuan RMB (about 1,735 ringgit) and a three-day, two-night bootcamp for 4,980 yuan RMB (about 2,882 ringgit).

Staff stated that the offline courses are scheduled frequently, with more than 10 sessions possible in a month, requiring at least 10 days’ advance booking. Currently, events are mainly held at the Changsha headquarters, but have expanded to Xiamen, Tianjin, Xi’an, Nanjing, and other locations.

The academy’s business layout is not limited to knowledge paywalls. According to its official WeChat public account, the academy boasts the “nation’s only intimate art space,” equipped with international laminar flow operating rooms and sterile laser operation suites. In the “Heibaidian” official mini-program store, the range includes lingerie, adult toys, contraceptives, and more, quite a few labeled as “coach’s same style.” Some product prices are not advantageous compared to similar products on the market.

Notably, the academy’s business has also extended to entrepreneurship and wealth domains. Some instructors hold titles such as “female entrepreneur mentor,” and courses like “Wealth Convergence Class” include topics such as light-asset monetization, traffic operation, and personalized entrepreneurship plans.

However, Zhou Yuan repeatedly uses catchphrases like “give out your gaze, my body forms an X shape” in her videos, accompanied by seductive expressions and body movements. This triggered strong backlash from some netizens, criticizing the content as operating in a gray area and accusing it of objectifying women as a “mistress training class.” Now, her account has been permanently banned by the platform for “violating the Cybersecurity Law’s prohibition on spreading vulgar content.”

Several of her social media accounts were set to private status on the night of the 21st.

According to the report, Zhou Yuan has previously stated that her courses have long been misunderstood as “mistress training” or “teaching women to please men,” but the actual focus is “in intimate relationships, we can please ourselves.”
