Thai government spokesperson Anucha Burapachaisri stated on the 25th that Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin was admitted to the hospital late on the night of the 24th due to a high fever and is currently undergoing a comprehensive physical examination.

The 38-year-old Srettha developed fever symptoms after returning to Bangkok from a two-day official visit to Cambodia.

Anucha indicated that all of Srettha's public activities scheduled for the 25th will be postponed, or attended by other senior officials on his behalf.

Srettha's husband, Pita Limjaroenrat, posted on Instagram, showing Srettha resting in a hospital bed. He wrote: “You never listen to anyone. Your body is already warning you that it cannot take it.”

During Srettha’s visit to Cambodia, he met with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet to discuss cross-border cooperation on issues such as combating online scams and air pollution.

The two leaders also discussed how to use ASEAN as a platform for trade tariff negotiations with U.S. President Trump.
