Philippine President Marcos Jr. stated on Saturday that the Philippines and Singapore intend to strengthen cooperation in key industries such as trade, investment, artificial intelligence (AI), and clean energy.

Marcos made these remarks after meeting Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry Gan Kim Yong at Malacañang Palace on Thursday. In a post on social media, he noted that both sides discussed concrete ways to deepen economic cooperation between the two countries.

Marcos said that expanding cooperation in key areas will help boost economic vitality and create more opportunities for Filipino workers and businesses. At the same time, he emphasized that enhancing bilateral cooperation is crucial for promoting closer economic integration in the Southeast Asian region.

The President pointed out that deepening economic ties between the Philippines and Singapore will help prepare the Philippines for future industrial development, while also promoting sustainable growth and contributing to building a more competitive and dynamic ASEAN region.
