According to Singapore’s Shin Min Daily News, a perverted uncle discovered that he could see into a neighbor’s room from his own bathroom window. He spied on his female neighbor for 8 months, even used a laser pointer to shine on her leg to attract attention, and loudly “confessed his love” while making lewd requests, eventually leading to his arrest by the police.
The accused, Losran Karni (68), faced a total of 8 charges including theft, molestation, and voyeurism. On Friday, he admitted to 4 of them and was sentenced to 8 months and 1 week in jail.
The investigation revealed that in January last year, the accused realized that a neighbor’s room window was left open and the curtains were not drawn, so he could see everything happening in the room from his bathroom window.
From January to August last year, he would often peep at the neighbor from the bathroom. To get her attention, he even shined a laser pointer into her room.
In May 2025, when the female victim (23) was trying on new clothes in her room, the accused stood in his bathroom and spied on her.
In June 24 of the same year, the accused shined a laser pointer on the victim’s thigh, making her feel harassed. She called the police and subsequently installed security cameras, applied frosted window film, and kept her curtains drawn to prevent further peeping.
However, the accused did not stop. Around midnight on July 18, he again shined the laser pointer into the victim’s room, even though the victim had partially closed her curtains.
About 15 minutes later, the accused suddenly yelled repeatedly at the victim, “Come to my home, I love you,” and demanded to see her naked, while continuously pointing the laser into her room.
The victim’s mother witnessed this and called the police. The accused was arrested that day and the laser pointer was seized.
During mitigation, the accused only requested the judge for a lighter sentence and to allow him to serve his jail term after Hari Raya. The judge eventually approved his request.
