Brunei Ministry of Education Recognizes 176 Outstanding Students - Student Excellence Awards Encourage Academic Performance

(Bandar Seri Begawan, 19th) The Brunei Ministry of Education held the 2025 Student Excellence Awards ceremony yesterday at the Universiti Brunei Darussalam auditorium. A total of 176 students from government, private, and international schools were commended for their outstanding academic achievements.

The award-winning students achieved excellent results in various public examinations, including the Brunei-Cambridge General Certificate of Education Advanced Level Examination (GCE A Level), International Baccalaureate (IB), Pearson Edexcel International Advanced Level, Brunei-Cambridge GCE Ordinary Level Examination (GCE O Level) and IGCSE, Pearson BTEC Level 2 Certificate, as well as the Primary School Assessment Examination (PSR).

This ceremony was organized by the Ministry of Education through its Department of Schools, Department of Examinations, Department of Private Education, and the Department of Special Education, in collaboration with Cambridge International Education Assessment Agency.

Minister of Education Datin Seri Setia Dr. Romaizah attended as guest of honor, while Deputy Minister of Education Dato Seri Setia Dr. Haji Norarfan and several senior officials were also present.

During the awards segment, the organizers presented awards to student winners in each category to recognize their academic excellence, including the Cambridge Outstanding Achievement Award and the Student Excellence Award. The ceremony concluded with a prayer led by Muhammad Azro, Inspector for Zone 2 of Brunei-Muara District Mosque.

The annual event aims to recognize students who excelled in public examinations and encourage them to continue to pursue academic excellence. At the same time, the Ministry of Education seized this opportunity to thank parents, guardians, and educators for their support and contributions to the students' achievements.

Other attendees included permanent secretaries, deputy permanent secretaries, university vice-chancellors, senior education officials, school leaders, and parents and guardians of the award-winning students.
