(Miri, 8th) Zhu Ba Chinese School Board Chairman and City Councillor Fan Fachun emphasized that the Board of Directors will, as always, fully support the school’s development, acting as the strongest backing for all teachers and staff, providing ongoing assistance and encouragement in all aspects, working together to promote the steady progress of school affairs, and striving towards a more glorious future.
On behalf of the Board, Fan Fachun extended early Chinese New Year greetings to all staff and guests, wishing everyone a happy 2026 Spring Festival and jointly ushering in the hopeful Year of the Horse (Bing Wu Year).
He pointed out that in the past year, Zhu Ba Chinese School students have achieved outstanding results in school-level, provincial, national, and even international competitions, bringing honor to the school, and that these achievements are heartening. He encouraged all teachers to continue to work together in the new year, to pursue new heights in academics and extracurricular activities, and to nurture more talented and virtuous individuals for the school.
Fan Fachun made these remarks during his speech at the “Galloping Horses, Creating the Future Together” Spring Banquet held last night by Zhu Ba Chinese School at the 5th floor of the Miri Imperial Palace Hotel.
He encouraged all colleagues with the phrase “Zhu Ba is good, but can be even better!” and noted that the school will soon be celebrating its 80th anniversary. Calculated as one generation every six years, the school has cultivated more than 30 generations of students, accompanying Miri’s development over the long term, making important contributions to nurturing talents for the nation and building society.
He emphasized that the Board will continue to give the maximum support to the school in the future, assisting in both hardware and software infrastructure and educational development, driving continuous improvement in school operations.
In addition, when reading the speech on behalf of special guest Miri Mayor and Pujut State Assemblyman Yu Xiaoshan, Fan Fachun stated that as Pujut State Assemblyman and also the school’s Secretary General, he felt honored to be invited to the 2026 Spring Festival Dinner, and on behalf of the State Assembly and school, extended Chinese New Year greetings to all teachers, students, and guests, wishing everyone good health, smooth work, and happy families.
Yu Xiaoshan pointed out that the school has achieved encouraging results over the past year thanks to the joint efforts of all parties, not only demonstrating a resilient spirit but also adding glory to the cause of education.
He emphasized that he will continue to pay attention and support the school’s development, promote cooperation with the school, and provide a more solid backing for the district’s education undertakings.
He also said that the new year is full of hope and challenges, and firmly believes that under the leadership of the Board and the Principal, the school will continue to innovate and break through, cultivating more outstanding talents for society; and that the banquet was not only an important moment to celebrate the Spring Festival, but also a great platform to strengthen communication, build consensus, and jointly promote the development of education.
