(Thailand, 22nd) The 2nd Army Region of Thailand has ordered the indefinite closure of the Jai Ta Ku trade passage at Buriram, citing reasons of national security and sovereignty.
The 2nd Army Region has issued a special order to immediately close the Jai Ta Ku border trade passage located in Chan To Pi Subdistrict, Ban Kut La District, Buriram province, starting from Saturday, June 21, 2025. The order is on the grounds of concerns for national security and territorial integrity.
This directive was signed by Lieutenant General Boonsin Padklang, the 2nd Army Region commander, and has been officially issued as Order No. 176/2568, authorized under Royal Thai Army Order No. 806/2568. The order grants Sura Nari Task Force full control over the opening and closing of all passages along the Thai-Cambodian border.
The military has stated that this order is a preventive measure aimed at ensuring the safety of Thai citizens and safeguarding Thailand’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
