(Miri, 17th) In conjunction with the 2025 'Sarawak Day' celebration, a 'Unity Walk' event will be held in downtown Miri on July 22nd (Tuesday) in the morning. Several roads will be temporarily closed to ensure the smooth running of the event.
According to a notice issued by the Miri police, the 'Unity Walk' will take place from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. in downtown Miri, with road closures in effect from the Miri Indoor Stadium (Stadium Tertutup Miri) along the following route:
1. Jalan Sukan
2. Jalan Kipas
3. Jalan Sylvia
4. Jalan Parry
5. Jalan North Yu Seng
6. Jalan Merpati
7. Returning to Jalan Sukan
The police will implement phased temporary road closures along the route and will have personnel directing traffic on site.
Miri District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Lee Bing Chiang urges all road users to cooperate and follow police instructions in order to maintain order and smooth traffic at the scene. He also reminds the public to plan their trips in advance and avoid the affected roads during the closure period.
