NATO's annual large-scale military exercise 'Baltic Operations-2025' started in Latvia in the Baltic region on the 5th and will continue until the 20th.
The purpose of this exercise is to promote cooperation among NATO allies, enhance the rapid response capability of various forces, and demonstrate NATO's commitment to regional stability and readiness to defend the Baltic region.
The exercise will cover unmanned systems operations training, medical evacuation, air defense, maritime interception, anti-submarine, mine counteraction, as well as airborne operations and engineering.
According to a recent news release from the U.S. military, more than 40 ships, 25 aircraft, and about 9,000 military personnel from 16 NATO countries are participating in the exercise. Participating countries include Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Sweden, Turkey, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
