(Bangkok, 19th) Deputy Spokesperson of the Thai Prime Minister's Office, Sasikan, stated on the 18th that the Thai government will launch the 'Green Tourism Season' campaign to promote the development of domestic tourism.
Sasikan stated that the number of tourists in Thailand has continued to decline this year. To stimulate the domestic tourism industry, the Thai government will launch the 'Green Tourism Season' campaign, aimed at boosting domestic tourism during the rainy season, with the goal of achieving domestic tourism revenue (excluding tourism revenue generated by foreign tourists) of 1.17 trillion baht (approximately 248.9 billion yuan) by 2025.
Sasikan stated that the campaign will run from June to September, covering 55 provinces in Thailand, and will feature various themed activities, such as adventure, gastronomy, pet travel, couple packages, and senior packages, aimed at attracting personalized travel groups, including female travelers, adventure enthusiasts, food lovers, and pet lovers.
According to the plan, the Thai National Aviation Authority, in collaboration with airlines and private enterprises, will offer discounts and special offers. For example, Vietnam Jet flight tickets can enjoy a 15% discount, and Thai Lion Air flight tickets can enjoy up to a 25% discount.
Sasikan stated that the goal of the project is to promote domestic tourist numbers to exceed 205 million visits. The government is committed to promoting economic activity throughout the year. Thailand's tourism industry is not limited to summer or winter; the rainy season is also a great opportunity to relax, rejuvenate, and support the local economy.
