(Vientiane, 19th Comprehensive Report) The China Asia Economic Development Association and the Asia Economic Development Investment Company recently donated medical supplies and vaccines worth over 10 million RMB to the Ministry of Health of Laos.
The handover ceremony was held on May 16 in Vientiane, attended by Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone and Minister of Health Bounfeng Phoummalaysith.
Prime Minister Sonexay expressed heartfelt gratitude to the China Asia Economic Development Association and Asia Economic Development Investment Company for their donation, saying that this batch of medical equipment and vaccines is of great significance to Laos' disease treatment and prevention efforts. He stated, "The Lao government and related departments will make full use of these supplies, especially to achieve the goal of universal vaccine coverage."
He also thanked China for its long-term support and expressed hope for continued assistance in the future. According to the Pasaxon newspaper, Prime Minister Sonexay also introduced the outstanding achievements in Laos' current social and economic development to the guests, including investment incentive measures and important historical events to be held this year.
He called on the China Asia Economic Development Association to encourage more Chinese companies to invest in Laos, especially in promising sectors such as mineral processing, agricultural deep processing, and services.
Quanshunji, president of the China Asia Economic Development Association, also delivered a speech at the ceremony, highly praising the long-term good cooperative relations between China and Laos, and introducing the achievements and significance of the association in promoting China-Laos relations and the continuous development of the two countries' social economies.
