China Allocates 350 Million Yuan in Advance to Support Disaster Rescue and Relief Work in Beijing, Hebei and Other Areas

In response to continuous heavy rainfall in East, North, and Northeast China, which has triggered floods and geological disasters, two Chinese government departments have allocated 350 million yuan (206 million Malaysian ringgit) in advance to assist these regions in carrying out disaster rescue and relief efforts.

According to information from the website of China's Ministry of Finance, recently East, North, and Northeast China have been continuously struck by heavy rainfall, triggering floods and geological disasters that have resulted in significant casualties and property losses in Beijing, Hebei, Jilin, Shandong and other areas.

Based on the local disaster and risk situations, on the 29th the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Emergency Management urgently allocated 350 million yuan in central natural disaster relief funds, focusing on supporting nine provinces, regions, and cities—Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Shanxi, Inner Mongolia, Jilin, Shandong, Guangdong, and Shaanxi—in carrying out emergency disaster rescue, relief, and aid for affected people. This includes the organized rescue, transfer, and resettlement of disaster-stricken people, emergency measures to eliminate risks, investigation of secondary disaster hazards, reconstruction of damaged houses, and other measures to minimize casualties and strive to reduce disaster losses, making every effort to safeguard people's lives and property.
