Asfia Praises Women's Contributions, Aiding Sarawak's Development and Progress

(Dalat, 19th) Sarawak State Assembly Speaker Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar stated that women continue to play an important role in the political and economic sectors and drive the state’s development and the well-being of the people through their own contributions.

He said that women are not only the pillars of the family, but also, with a strong sense of responsibility and work enthusiasm, play an important role in consolidating party organizations.

“The strength of women within an organization is one of the key factors in achieving party stability and success.”

He made these remarks when officiating the PBB Zone 9 Women’s Wing “Night of Fellowship” dinner last night at Dalat Welfare Centre (Kompleks Kebajikan Dalat).

Meanwhile, Asfia also expressed his gratitude to the PBB Zone 9 Women’s Wing, which covers the Tellian, Dalat, Balingian, Daro, and Jemoreng state constituencies, for their long-standing active responsibility towards the party and society.

He said the PBB Zone 9 Women’s Wing has proven itself to be a proactive and fully committed grassroots team, successfully organizing various grassroots activities.

“Such dedication deserves to be carried forward, as an organization’s strength depends on the unity and effort of all its members,” he said.

On another note, Sarawak Minister for Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development, Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah, pointed out that the PBB Women’s Wing is not just party supporters, but also the core force driving the party’s development.

“They participate actively in various activities throughout the year. They are not only listeners of public opinion and conveyors of information, but also important companions to the community in both good and challenging times.”

She said, therefore, all members of the PBB Women’s Wing must further strengthen organizational operations at all levels in preparation for the 13th Sarawak State Election (PRN).

“Although the date of the state election has not yet been announced, we cannot wait until the last moment to act,” she said.

Those present at the event included Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier’s Department (Law, MA63 and State-Federal Relations) Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali, as well as Tellian constituency state assemblyman Royston Valentine.
