Chinese authorities have reported that 11 criminals involved in the Ming Family telecom fraud group case in northern Myanmar have been executed.
On the 29th, the Intermediate People’s Court of Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province, issued an announcement on its WeChat public account.
According to the announcement, on September 29, 2025, the Wenzhou Intermediate People’s Court, Zhejiang Province, sentenced Ming Guoping, Ming Zhenzhen, Zhou Weichang, Wu Hongming, Wu Senlong, Fu Yubin, and other 11 people involved in the Ming Family criminal group case to death for crimes including intentional homicide, intentional injury, illegal detention, fraud, and operating casinos, and imposed corresponding accessory penalties. After the first trial verdict, Ming Guoping, Ming Zhenzhen, and other defendants filed an appeal. After an open hearing, the Zhejiang Provincial High People’s Court ruled on November 25, 2025, to reject the appeal and uphold the original verdict, and submitted the case to the Supreme People’s Court for approval in accordance with the law.
After review, the Supreme People’s Court confirmed that since 2015, the Ming Family criminal group led by core family members Ming Guoping and Ming Zhenzhen established multiple compounds in Laojie and Shiyuanzi, Qingshuihe and other places in Kokang, Myanmar, solicited and attracted financiers including Wu Hongming, Luo Jianzhang, Jiang Ji, and provided them with armed protection. They carried out telecom network fraud and operated casinos, involving over 10 billion RMB in fraudulent and gambling funds. The Ming Family criminal group also colluded with the telecom fraud group led by Wu Hongming to deliberately kill, harm, and illegally detain those involved in scams, resulting in the deaths of 14 Chinese citizens and injuring many others.
The Supreme People’s Court held that defendants Ming Guoping, Ming Zhenzhen, Zhou Weichang, Wu Hongming, Wu Senlong, Fu Yubin and others had respectively organized, led, and participated in criminal groups committing crimes, and their acts constituted more than ten offenses including intentional homicide, intentional injury, illegal detention, fraud, and operating casinos. The Ming Family criminal group, with Ming Guoping and Ming Zhenzhen as leading members, and the telecom fraud group headed by Wu Hongming jointly committed serious violent crimes such as intentional homicide, intentional injury, and illegal detention causing death. Among these, the intentional homicide and intentional injury offenses committed by the defendants were of a particularly egregious nature, with especially grave circumstances and consequences. The crimes were extremely serious and should be severely punished according to the law. The facts found in the first and second trial judgments were clear, the evidence was reliable and sufficient, the convictions were accurate, and the sentences appropriate. The trial procedures were legal. Accordingly, the Supreme People’s Court approved the death sentences of Ming Guoping, Ming Zhenzhen, Zhou Weichang, Wu Hongming, Wu Senlong, Fu Yubin, and 11 others in accordance with the law.
After receiving the criminal ruling and execution order from the Supreme People’s Court, the Intermediate People’s Court of Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province, pronounced and executed the death sentences on Ming Guoping, Ming Zhenzhen, Zhou Weichang, Wu Hongming, Wu Senlong, Fu Yubin and 11 criminals in accordance with the law. Before the execution, the criminals met with their close relatives.
