China’s “Short Drama Leading Man” He Jianqi recently became embroiled in a drug use controversy after a woman claiming to be his ex-girlfriend, Ms. Zhu (“He Jianqi’s Debt”), made a real-name report on the 25th. She accused He Jianqi of using drugs multiple times during their cohabitation in 2021, claiming he had been taken away by Beijing police for urine, blood, and hair tests, and that he wore hair extensions for a long time to cover up the evidence. In response, He Jianqi’s studio issued a “No Criminal Record Certificate” to prove his innocence and angrily denounced the accusations as malicious speculation.
In her accusation, Ms. Zhu stated she is willing to cooperate with police investigations and emphasized that the Haidian Police in Beijing have a case file on the incident. She claimed to have witnessed He Jianqi taking drugs. In response, on the 26th, He Jianqi personally posted, sharing a photo of his meal box and stating that he had completed the urine and hair tests. Jokingly, he said, “Urine and hair tests are done, time to go home for dinner. If I hadn’t been working out lately, I really wouldn’t have the stamina to clear up rumors.” Through these actions, he sought to prove his innocence and prevent rumors from affecting his work and reputation.
