A massacre took place in Hebei Province, China, with reports indicating that five people from the same family were killed by a neighbor from the same village. The local township government confirmed that the tragedy occurred.
According to Henan TV, recent online posts claimed that a family of five in Longyao County, Xingtai, Hebei, were brutally murdered by a fellow villager. Mr. Li, a family member of the victims, stated that those killed were his parents, his wife, and his two sons.
The report said that 32-year-old Mr. Li usually works out of town. At around 6 a.m. on June 22, he received a call from his older brother saying, "Mom has collapsed." At first, he thought it was his mother’s hypertension acting up and hurried home. When he arrived, he saw that the police had already sealed off the house.
Mr. Li said the victims were his father, mother, wife, and two sons. “My two nieces, that is, my brother’s daughters, survived because their mother went out of the room first, and they remained asleep inside. Later, when my nieces were awakened, they called my brother."
According to a forensic notification from the police, the victims Yuan Mouxia, Li Mouye, Li Mouhan, Li Mouqiang, and Yuan Moujuan all suffered multiple wounds and organ ruptures from sharp external force, leading to traumatic and hemorrhagic shock deaths.
Mr. Li said the perpetrator was a neighbor from the same village. Before the incident, his family was building a house on their homestead. “The perpetrator’s land and our homestead are separated by a one-meter-wide path, which is public land, but the perpetrator’s family has long been farming this path. They believed that when we laid soil for construction, we were encroaching on the public path, leading to previous quarrels between our families.”
Mr. Li had previously added the perpetrator’s son on WeChat, but after the tragedy, the other party blocked him.
On the afternoon of the 9th, staff from Dongliang Township stated that the township government has been providing assistance and psychological counseling to the victims’ family members.
