A fire broke out on the 14th at a garment factory and an adjacent chemical warehouse in the Bangladeshi capital Dhaka, resulting in at least 16 deaths and multiple injuries.

Talha, the spokesperson for the Media Affairs Department of the Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defense, stated that the fire department received the report at noon. The blaze started on the third floor of the garment factory and has now been largely brought under control. The injured have been sent to the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery in Dhaka for treatment.
Authorities stated that all the victims' bodies were found in the garment factory.
Locals said that the death toll from the fire may rise further.
Bangladesh has a highly developed garment industry and is one of the world's largest garment exporters. There are many garment factories in and around Dhaka, but safety incidents have occurred frequently.
