Airbus A320 Undergoes Large-Scale Recall, Followed by Fuselage Panel Quality Issues

After European aerospace giant Airbus recently called for the immediate repair of 6,000 A320 series aircraft, this model has once again reported quality problems.

Airbus has confirmed that industrial quality issues have been found in the fuselage panels of dozens of A320 series aircraft.

An Airbus spokesperson confirmed to AFP: "Airbus confirms that a quality issue has been identified with a supplier, affecting a small number of metal panels on A320 aircraft."

The company stated that the number of affected aircraft is limited, the root cause has already been found and addressed, and newly produced panels are up to standard.

The company spokesperson said that this issue originated from one supplier, but did not provide further details.

After Airbus last week requested the immediate repair of 6,000 A320 series aircraft worldwide, on the 1st it stated that fewer than 100 A320 planes remain grounded due to urgent software updates.

Airbus said in a press release: "The vast majority of aircraft have already completed the necessary corrections."

"We are working with airline customers to support the remaining fewer than 100 aircraft in completing the fixes, ensuring they can return to service."
