U.S. President Trump recently went to the hospital for a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan without a publicly announced schedule, once again raising concerns about his health. However, the White House physician stated that the results of the scan show Trump’s cardiovascular health is "excellent."
According to foreign media reports, Trump will turn 80 next June and has long released only limited information about his health, drawing frequent criticism. On October 10 this year, he made an unannounced visit to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center; since this was not a routine annual checkup, it sparked much speculation.
However, a memo released by the White House stated that Trump's physician, Bababela, said that this advanced imaging exam was purely preventive. “Overall, Trump’s cardiovascular system shows excellent health, his abdominal images are completely normal, all major organs are quite healthy, and blood supply is sufficient.”
At a press briefing on the 1st, White House Press Secretary Levitt said that men of Trump’s age can benefit from health screenings such as MRI scans. “President Trump’s cardiovascular imaging results were completely normal—there were no signs of arterial narrowing, impaired blood flow, or abnormalities in the heart or major blood vessels.”
MRI is commonly used to detect serious diseases such as tumors, strokes, and multiple sclerosis; it can also detect relatively minor problems such as muscle tears or inflammation.
In January, Trump became the oldest president to be sworn in in U.S. history. In recent weeks, under media questioning, he has repeatedly dodged answers about the reason for his October hospital visit and asked reporters to consult his medical team.
