(Kota Samarahan, 19th) One of the 'sailor' facilities at the local Engsengei palm oil factory caught fire yesterday afternoon, causing a tense atmosphere.
The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department operations center spokesperson stated that after receiving a report at 1:22 PM, authorities dispatched personnel from the Kota Samarahan Fire and Rescue Department to the scene.
He said: "Upon arrival, firefighters discovered that the fire broke out in the 'sailor' numbered three, which is approximately 50 feet high. The fire is believed to have occurred inside, where palm oil residue was still present at the time."
It is understood that the blaze was subsequently extinguished by the factory's emergency rescue team using a high-pressure fire hydrant.
He added that firefighters then carried out 'overhaul' work to ensure the fire was completely extinguished.
