(Bandar Seri Begawan, 28th) — Prince’s College recently officially launched its smart classroom, marking a significant step for the college in its digital transformation journey.
This launch coincided with the college’s 50th anniversary celebration. The initiative aligns with the ‘2035’ vision and the college’s move towards a new national 21st-century education system.
The launch ceremony was held in the smart classroom within the college’s administrative building and was officiated by Acting Director of the School Department under the Ministry of Education, Eddie Fazlin, on behalf of the guest of honour, Ministry of Education Permanent Secretary Shan Sia Zulaini.
Principal of Prince’s College, Nor Amal Atiifah, delivered a welcome speech at the ceremony, followed by the official activation of the smart classroom, formally announcing the facility’s use.
Since its soft launch earlier this year, the classroom has been widely used in various teaching activities. Its reservation system operates on a first-come, first-served basis and is managed via a mobile application.
Additionally, the classroom has hosted numerous professional development sessions for teachers, including workshops such as “Artificial Intelligence as a Teacher’s Assistant,” further promoting educational innovation.
Principal Nor Amal Atiifah pointed out that the introduction of the smart classroom continuously motivates and supports educators to integrate artificial intelligence technology into teaching, enriching classroom content and enhancing the learning experience.
She also expressed gratitude to Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam for its contributions to the classroom’s upgrade and renovation. The improvements included new carpeting, smart TVs, sofas, desks, chairs, and storage cabinets.
She noted that with these enhancements completed, the smart classroom has become a more attractive and conducive learning environment, thereby effectively improving teaching outcomes.
The launch event concluded with a technology demonstration of the smart classroom, a group photo session, and a tour of the newly upgraded teaching facilities, bringing the activity to a successful close.
