James Handy, the American actor who appeared in “Top Gun: Maverick”, was shockingly reported dead today at the age of 81. Police revealed he was killed by his girlfriend’s son.
The actor, who debuted in the 1970s, was found on June 4 collapsed in the front yard of a Los Angeles residence, semi-conscious. When police arrived, they found multiple stab wounds on him, with blood all over the ground. He was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead.
According to police, when officers arrived on the scene, a man suddenly called out to them and confessed to being the killer: “I am the son, I just killed the sinner.” Investigation showed this 44-year-old man is the son of the victim's girlfriend and he has been arrested. Police are still clarifying his motive for the crime.
James Handy was born in New York, and during his five-decade-long acting career, mostly played supporting roles. For example, he played the bartender in “Top Gun: Maverick.” He also appeared in films such as “Jumanji” and “Logan,” as well as TV series like “Beverly Hills, 90210” and “The X-Files.”
