(Kuching, 25th) A Maxim e-hailing driver in Miri responded quickly and successfully helped a family through a frightening moment. At the time, an elderly woman suddenly fell ill, yet private ambulances were unable to assist.
Maxim stated in a release that the incident was shared on Facebook by the woman's daughter, Christly, who expressed her immense gratitude in her post.
"My mother nearly fainted, her face was pale, and her eyes rolled up. At that time, only my disabled brother and I were at home.
"All the private ambulances were busy and no drivers were willing to take the order. I tried to book a car through the Maxim app, and luckily the driver arrived within just three minutes," Christly wrote.
She added that the driver not only immediately helped carry her mother into the car, but also drove carefully on the way to the hospital.
"He patiently waited for the medical staff to help my mother off the car and didn’t even charge extra.
"But I still paid more for the fare, because his genuine kindness deeply moved me. It may have been a small matter for him, but that morning, he saved my mother’s life," Christly said.
On the other hand, driver Chong—who took the order—also shared his experience.
"That was my fourth ride of the day. I arrived within three minutes, assisted Christly in lifting her mother into the car. During the 25-minute journey, I drove carefully, worrying that driving too fast might affect the patient.
"Upon arrival at the hospital’s emergency and trauma department, I also helped carry the elderly woman out of the car and handed her over to the medical staff," Chong said.
He stated that as a driver, the greatest honor is being entrusted with the trust and hopes of passengers.
To recognize his courage and sincerity, Maxim e-hailing management has officially awarded a certificate of appreciation to Chong, acknowledging his kindness in offering help during an emergency.
