US President Trump confirmed on the 23rd that Iran launched a missile attack that day on the Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, where US forces are stationed.

He said that Iran gave advance notice to the US side, and the attack caused no casualties.

He posted multiple messages on the social media platform 'Truth Social,' expressing 'thanks' to Iran for the advance notice, which allowed the US to take timely protective measures and avoid personnel casualties.

He pointed out that Iran launched a total of 14 missiles this time, of which 13 were intercepted. One was not intercepted because it was headed in a 'non-threatening direction.'

He stated that Iran's response was 'very weak' and caused almost no damage.

Trump also thanked Qatar for its efforts in maintaining regional stability.

Iran Retaliates by Striking US Air Base in Qatar

The Secretariat of Iran's Supreme National Security Council issued a statement on the 23rd, saying that in response to the US's aggressive actions against Iran's nuclear facilities, Iran carried out a missile strike that day on the US Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar.

The statement said that the number of missiles used in this operation was equivalent to the number of bombs dropped by the US when attacking Iran's nuclear facilities. In addition, the base Iran targeted was far from Qatar's urban infrastructure and residential areas.

The statement emphasized that this operation would not pose any threat to the 'friendly and brotherly' country of Qatar or its people. Iran has always been committed to maintaining and extending its 'friendly and longstanding' relationship with Qatar.

Al Udeid Air Base is the largest US military base in the Middle East.
