Vance: Iran No Longer Capable of Building Nuclear Weapons

Published at Jun 24, 2025 11:49 am
On the 23rd, U.S. Vice President Vance said in an interview with Fox News Channel that after U.S. airstrikes on three of Iran's nuclear facilities, Iran is no longer capable of producing nuclear weapons.

He also stated that the United States hopes to engage in direct contact with Iran.

He noted that a week ago, Iran was "very close to possessing nuclear weapons," but "now, Iran does not have the capability to make nuclear weapons with the equipment it possesses because we destroyed it."

He said the United States does not want Iran to rebuild its nuclear program.

On the evening of the 21st Eastern Time, U.S. President Trump announced that the U.S. military had "successfully struck" three Iranian nuclear facilities at Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan.

Vance said the United States is willing to talk with Iran, and the president's attitude has always been clear. The U.S. is willing to talk directly with Iran to discuss how to move this matter forward.

He also pointed out that prior to launching a missile attack against the U.S. Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, Iran had warned the U.S. side.

He said: "We believe the reason they gave us advance warning was because they did not want to kill Americans or see the situation escalate."
