(Sibu, 21st) The Sarawak State Library Sibu Branch will be holding a 'Customer Day' event from August 22 to 23, at the Orange Zone of Star Mega Mall, Sibu, bringing the public a series of educational, interactive, and community engagement activities.
This two-day event will be held from 10am to 7pm and is an important initiative by the State Library to continually strengthen ties with the community while showcasing the library’s comprehensive services, facilities, collections, and various programs to the public.
The Sibu State Library stated that the purpose of this event is to bring library resources outside of the premises, allowing more people to access and utilize library resources, and to enhance public awareness of the library’s role as a knowledge center, lifelong learning platform, and community development hub.
The event also aims to attract more people to participate in various activities and services organized by the State Library.
During the event, a rich variety of programs will be arranged onsite, including exhibitions, competitions, knowledge-sharing talks, quiz games, and other interactive experiential activities, creating an educational and enjoyable learning experience for people of all ages.
In addition, the public can take this opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the library’s collections, digital resources, educational programs, and community initiatives, and engage in face-to-face interactions with library staff to further learn about the services that support learning, research, and personal growth.
The Sibu State Library expressed hope that by holding the event in a popular shopping mall in Sibu, they can reach a broader audience and encourage more people to cultivate reading habits, practice lifelong learning, and actively participate in community activities.
